Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was not only a great Philosopher but also went on to become the First Vice President of India and the Second President of India, but people remember him majorly for his contribution as a teacher. People wanted to celebrate the birthday of this great son of India who devoted his life to education and the improvement of standards of education.
But Dr. Radhakrishnan said, “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers’ Day,” and it was said in 1962. Since then, Teachers’ Day is observed across the country on his birthday, i.e., September 5.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with the introduction and recognition of all the mentors of Image Classes who dedicate their time and efforts to shaping and molding the education of students. The cake was cut by our Director, Nawab Saquib Ibrahim Sir along with all the mentors of Image Classes. Mimicries of teachers were delivered by the students, songs were sung in the honor of teachers, and speeches were delivered to show their gratitude towards the teachers. Students participated in Drawing and Painting, Poem Writing Completion, Slogan Writing Competition, etc. Teachers also performed by completing the task which included challenges, songs, dialogue delivery, tongue twisters, secret lie, etc. Prizes were distributed to the winners and certificates of participation to all the participants.
